As a Corporate Tax Director, you will be responsible for all tax-related activities within the company and ensure that all matters related to taxes are handled promptly and accurately. You will also be responsible for designing and developing tax technology solutions to improve efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities

+        Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and leadership to the tax team.

+        Partner and maintain a positive working relationship with both the outside auditors, tax advisors and HQ.

+        Review tax returns and related documents to ensure compliance with federal and state law.

+        Provide guidance and oversight to the Parent company as well as international affiliates on international tax laws and related matters.

+        Work closely with the treasury department in forecasting future required tax payments.

+        Provide guidance to management regarding the tax structuring of acquisitions to optimize future tax benefit potential.

+        Prepare and/or review the quarterly and year-end consolidated tax provision calculation including the assessment of potential exposure related to uncertain tax positions in accordance with ASC 740/IAS 12.

+        Develop federal and state tax planning strategies to minimize the company’s tax liability exposure.

+        Manage U.S international tax compliance process, including Pillar 2 Reporting Requirements, Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) and Base Erosion, Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) regulations and international expense allocations.

+        Manage ongoing compliance requirements to ensure that the company remains eligible for R&D credits that are available to the company.

+        Oversee compliance with the company’s bi-lateral Advanced Pricing Agreement (APA) between U.S. and Japan taxing authorities ensuring that all required documentation is properly submitted timely and that the company is in compliance with profitability range requirements.

+        Identify tax technology needs, including opportunities for process improvements, automation, efficiency gains and application of tax process and technology best practices using existing and new technology. Collaborate with tax and non-tax leadership on tax technology strategy and IT road mapping.

+        Manage ongoing IRS audits including timely disposition of any issues raised as required.

+        Manage all Sales, Use and Property Tax filings and related matters.

+        Research changes in tax law requirements as well as changes in the nature of the company’s business transactions relative to such requirements to assess impact to tax return filings as well as ASC 740/ IAS 12 tax provision calculations.

+        Experience in managing a team of tax professionals.

Qualifications

Required:

+         BS Degree in Finance required. 

+         10 yrs. experience in the Corporate Tax field.

+         Experience with designing and implementing tax technology solutions and/or process improvements.

+         Knowledge/Experience with International Tax Laws.

+         Experience in leading/directing the work of others.

+         Experienced in negotiations/settlements with IRS to include international, federal, state, and local levels.

+         Knowledge/Experience of tax implications relating to mergers and acquisitions.

+         Ability to work overtime to meet workload peaks and complete assignments in a timely manner in accordance with company’s established deadlines.

+         A foundational knowledge of ASC 740/IAS 12 as well as US and multinational tax reporting requirements is required.

+         Previous experience as a Tax Director or experience in a similar role.

+         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines.

+         Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with other managers as well as the senior leadership team.

+         Strong leadership and management skills.

+         Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

+         Excellent skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred

+         CPA or Advanced Tax Degree Preferred.

+         Experience working with BI solutions is a plus.
