The Manager, HR Compliance will manage, design, and implement programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This role will partner with leadership to maintain compliance with relevant employment-related laws and legislation, internal/external audits, and ensure risk is mitigated.

Responsibilities

+         Manage all compliance and reporting activities for the organization, including but not limited to Affirmative Action Plans and Programs, EEO-1, and Vets filings, spearhead FLSA job classifications and compensation compliance efforts, as well as manage federal, state, and local labor law postings.

+         Monitor, track and communicate regulatory changes that may impact compliance requirements and business processes, partnering with stakeholders to assess risks and implement requisite controls.

+         Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk across the organization, make improvement recommendations, and develop/implement programs and procedures for long-term resolution of problematic areas.

+         Conduct periodic and cyclical audits to assess the effectiveness of HR programs in meeting compliance standards.

+         Use best practices and methodologies to develop robust internal controls.

+         Work closely with Benefits team regarding adherence to benefits-related regulations and standards, including managing our 3rd party LOA administrator, 401k, ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), Form 5500, non-discrimination testing, and ACA.

+         Works closely with Talent Acquisition team regarding adherence to talent acquisition-related regulations and standards including posting requirements, job descriptions, affirmative action, etc.

+         Collaborate with Legal and leadership stakeholders to develop and distribute communication regarding compliance updates.

+         Manage policies such as HIPAA, ADA, Code of Conduct, FLSA, etc. and handbooks across the organization.  Ensure company documents, programs, policies, and systems adhere to regulatory requirements and are consistently and timely updated.

+         Manage, develop, and improve compliance training in collaboration with Learning & Development. Ensure dissemination of training and monitor compliance of training requirements.

+         Manage advanced reporting capabilities within the company’s HRIS system, with the ability to analyze, interpret and present meaningful data to senior leadership team.

+         Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Required:

+         Bachelor's degree (coursework relating to HR a plus);

+         7+ years Human Resource experience with a minimum of 3+ years in a compliance focused role;

+         Up to date and working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws; CA, NJ, NY, MA, TX a must

+         Effective project management skills

+         Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally;

+         Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;

+         Strong attention to detail;

+         Strong problem-solving techniques and ability to effectively present information for various audiences including executives;

+         Sound judgment and analytical capability;

+         Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential information; and

+         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR software

+         Overnight travel up to 20%

 

Preferred:

+      PHR, SPHR or CCEP certification

+      Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
